Jesus couldn’t give this man the kingdom of God, for God’s kingdom had never been formed within him in his heart. The malefactor received pardon, he received the atonement and salvation of Jesus Christ—the first convert of Christ’s completed work on Calvary—but he could not, however, receive as an inheritance the Kingdom of God.
